Toronto...Again

My friends - I'm up in Toronto this week....again. This time it's only for two days. I suppose I'm running out of things to talk about, as I only visit the AMD office in Markham, and then head right back to the airport. One of these trips, I'm going to have to write more about the downtown part of Toronto, because it's a great place to visit.

I was up here for a meeting to discuss the next-generation of graphics products that we'll introduce later this year. I met with PR, product management, marketing and engineering, to talk about the features of these products and how we are going to sell them to customers. The meetings took place on a single day, for about 8 hours. They were very productive.

Before leaving Canada, I stopped by a favorite restaurant for dinner. It's called "All Star Wings" and, as the name would imply, they specialize in wings.

My oldest son would go nuts at this place. They have approximately 180 different kinds of wings - mostly different sauces. Here's the guide for selecting how "hot" you would like your wings:

I wonder if you really have to sign a waiver...

As you can tell, they like to humiliate those that don't order wings with a bit of a kick. I'm not afraid to admit that I went for the section of the menu that had "no heat", or the "2 year-old" level. I prefer to actually taste the food, rather than have flames shooting out of my mouth. Go figure.

I happily ordered the "Mile High Ranch" - wings coated in Ranch dressing, with a little "Santa Fe spice" sprinkled over the top. DELICIOUS!

All the glory that my camera phone could provide

I'm not an expert on wings - but when these arrived at my table, I was surprised that they didn't look anything like...wings. Although messy, they were really fun to eat. They provide you with a bucket, just to make things easier for everyone:

Only the classy places provide a bucket

I found out that they're franchising the All Star Wings brand, and more restaurants are popping up around the greater Toronto area. If you're ever there...make sure to track one of these down.

I'm leaving tonight, and heading straight for California. More on that later....

I'll have to tell Dad about the place--although he would prefer those that are below the ones for 2 year olds. (I'm about as much spice as he can handle ; )
