Orem, Utah

A couple of weeks ago, returning from a business trip to California, I was able to spend time in Orem, Utah.  The best part was that it was my birthday ; )  I love visiting Utah for no specific reason - but this made it extra special!

For my birthday dinner, I asked to go to the Rooster Dumpling and Noodle Bar in downtown Provo.  It's a great restaurant, delivering unique Asian cuisine that you normally don't find in Utah County.

The food was fantastic.  We filled-up on an assortment of hand-made pork and chicken dumplings:

The fun with food certainly didn't stop there.  My wife discovered yet another great food place for the family to enjoy.  This one is called The Sweet Tooth Fairy.  It's all about cupcakes:

In addition, my father-in-law grabbed even more treats.  Their family has a long tradition of goodies from Shirley's Bakery in Provo:

These sweet rolls are not to be missed.  All of these required extra insulin and some exercise ; )

While in the Provo/Orem area, I had a chance to catch-up with some of my siblings.  My youngest sister lives there (she teaches elementary school), as well as one of my younger brothers (attending BYU):

Eating an awesome lunch at Zupas

My wife's family were kind enough to hold a backyard BBQ for even more of my family.  It was a good chance to catch-up with everyone in town:

My beautiful sis and G-Man

My little boy had a blast playing with his cousins that live in Utah.  The play really well together.  Here's a little video clip of them in-action:

Before I left town, I stopped at a store to pick up a few small things.  While there, I found this:

I have no doubt that the BYU Cougar chips taste much, much better than the crappy Utah chips ; )

I remember eating at Rooster with you guys--it really was yummy. And Sweet Tooth Fairy--so good.

Glad you had a chance to visit with family.
