Frisco, TX

This is a special blog post.  You don't get to write these very often.  Last week, I was lucky enough to watch my son and his amazing wife welcome my first grandson into the world.  They live near Dallas, Texas, so I was able to drive the 4 hours and be at the hospital when this blessed event took place.

When I arrived, my daughter-in-law was in labor...but you would never know it.  She's been preparing for this, for a long time.  She was geared-up for a difficult process and was asking when that would come ; )

My wife and younger kids followed me to Frisco, Texas a few hours later, so that the little ones wouldn't have to wait nearly as long.  They kept themselves busy in the waiting area...which I really appreciated.

After several hours, and a great deal of pushing, Logan Christopher Robison was born!  Both mother and son were healthy.  The baby arrived at just under seven pounds and about twenty inches long.  He has incredibly long fingers...and looked just like his father:

Needless to say, his dad was a happy man.  I was so proud of the him and his wife - they are and will be amazing parents:

It was fun to watch them both interact with the baby.  You never know how first-time parents will handle things, but these guys seemed like pros already.

Warning - here are a LOT of pictures of the baby.  What else did you expect??

The next day, we descended on the hospital, to have more time with the newborn and his proud parents:

We finally had the chance to let the two younger kids actually visit the hospital room.  My youngest son was really anxious to be a good uncle ; )  He kept asking when he could see the baby.

As a proud grandfather, I finally had a chance to play with the boy...

Three generations of men in my family...

G-Man was patient, but kept asking when he could hold the baby.  We had to work with him on the right way to hold the baby, but he was really excited when given the chance:

Even the new grandma got in on the fun:

The hospital they stayed at, was amazing.  They celebrate each birth by serving the new mother and father steak and lobster!

The next day, it was time for the boy to take his first car ride.  We strapped him into his car seat, and he looked like he was being swallowed by it ; )

Overall, it was an amazing experience.  It represented a personal milestone, as I can now be called "Grandpa" and not get mad at anyone ; )  I welcome the title, along with the responsibility.  I've seen some tremendous examples of exemplary grandfathers and can't wait to watch him grow up.  I'm one lucky guy!
