Austin, TX - Part 2

This is the second of two posts about a special family gathering in Austin, TX.  The last post ended with events on Sunday, including the blessing of my grandson L.

The very next day was Labor Day.  This was also the last day we would all be together, so we enjoyed every minute of it.  Mom started the day with the boys in her arms...I thought this was a fun scene, so I grabbed my camera to take a picture.  With that cast on her arm, this sure wasn't easy:

We took everyone to another one of our favorite spots in Austin - Mount Bonnell.  This is a small park that overlooks Austin's portion of the Colorado River.  You also get amazing views of expensive homes in that part of the city:

We took a leisurely hike up and down the outlook, stopping long enough to take a few pictures of the family:

Just a couple of miles away is another beautiful spot - Mayfield Park.  This is a wonderful preserve with lots of walking trails and a family of peacocks that live on the grounds.

Mom is becoming quite the nature photographer.  She's the only one with enough patience to get these amazing shots.  It was even harder with the cast on her arm:

After a delicious lunch, it was time for my son and his family to travel home.  We said one last goodbye to Baby L and thought about the next time we would be able to see him.

We returned to the house to enjoy the pool.  G-Man loves to dive off my shoulders, and with his grandparents as an audience, he gave it everything he had:

My father has a unique skill in the pool.  He's able to squirt water with his hands...much like you would milk a cow.  Here, you can see him trying to teach G-Man how to do it:

The kids love swimming so much - it's been a great addition to our regular summer routine.  It's helped both kids to learn to swim, much faster than we had hoped.  Sometimes, L likes to think she's swimming:

That's about it.  It was SO FUN to have everyone visit us in Austin.  We're lucky that the family made the effort to get her and will cherish these memories of grandparents, great-grandparents and grandchildren all having fun together.
