For 2011 Spring Break, my oldest son and his wife drove down from Dallas to visit us in Austin. We had a blast seeing them. G-Man really looks up to his big brother and it's such a joy for me to watch the two of them together. My daughter-in-law is an elementary school teacher and is absolutely WONDERFUL with kids. She's very patient with G-Man and this is why I love when they visit.

We decided that we would take a short trip down to San Antonio. It's only a 90 minute drive from our home, in south Austin. Our destination was SeaWorld, and other sights in that area. Our first stop was the LDS Temple in San Antonio:

The temple itself is an amazing piece of architecture. To me, the building has real "character". It's one of the smaller temples of our church, but simply gorgeous, nonetheless:
The stained glass on several exterior windows was amazing. Some lovely craftsmanship, and it adds so much to the spiritual feeling that comes from this sacred structure.
That evening, we all took my wife to San Antonio's River Walk. She hasn't been to San Antonio since she was a little girl ; ) Unfortunately, we don't have any pictures. It was St. Patrick's Day, as well as Spring Break, so the area was completely packed. We struggled to move through what is one of San Antonio's best features. Here are pictures from someone else's visit:
On a beautiful day, River Walk is a great place to have dinner and enjoy the best of San Antonio. The nice thing is that the weather in San Antonio produces quite a few nice days ; )
That evening, we walked a few blocks from our dinner to San Antonio's famous Alamo - as in "Remember the..."
This is pretty much it. If you were expecting a huge fort, you're out of luck ; )
