Ashton, Idaho - Part 3

The amazing reunion continued...especially with all of the family in town.  The next morning, I watched cousins playing together, and it warmed my heart.  My mom caught this moment of all three boys.  Videogames will unite little boys ; )

One of my sisters is a hairdresser.  She's amazing...I've never seen someone work so fast, yet achieve high-quality results.  We begged her to give some much-needed haircuts (including my own) and she was kind enough to oblige:

The big event of this day was so fun.  Mom and my oldest daughter whipped up an activity that involved everyone at the reunion.  We held "Cupcake Wars" - just like the Food Network TV show.  We divided into three teams - each one led by one of the little boy cousins.  We were given the theme of Candyland and had to create cupcakes and a presentation to fit the theme.  Each of the boys provided direction and input on decorations.  It was a BLAST! Garrett was in charge of my team.

We made cupcakes that were filled with Nutella and marshmallow.  Yum! We proceeded to build a Candyland board, from the game, and placed the decorated cupcakes on the path

We even had a gummy bear fishing in a Root Beer lake!

Another team built the castle at the end of the game.  I watched my oldest brother and my sisters combine to bring some pretty amazing creativity to their project.

The third team created s'mores cupcakes with tiny s'mores on top of them.  Genius!  After we were done, the judging commenced.  My brother-in-law had the toughest job...he had to judge the flavors of all the cupcakes.  He really took one for the team ; )

In the end, each team won for various aspects of the competition.  We won for our creative presentation.  Each of the cousins were awarded trophies for their teams:

That night, my oldest brother made dinner - he created custom pizzas for the family.  Each night, one of the siblings was responsible for dinner, so it was fun to cook for everyone when it was your turn.

We ended the evening with a little birthday celebration for my father.  One of my younger nephews asked my Dad if he was alive when the dinosaurs roamed the earth.  Therefore, we had a dinosaur piñata for the little kids to enjoy:

We presented my father with a custom book that included memories and thoughts written by all the members of the family.  My daughter had created it and the book was beautiful.

We finished the evening chatting and playing games.  What a GREAT day.
