Well...because I just haven't traveled enough over the last few weeks, my family is in Chicago with me this weekend. While the temperatures are really, really low, we managed to avoid a severe ice storm back home. We're hoping that our pipes didn't freeze, with the power being out for a significant time. We are trying to contact neighbors, to see how bad things are. In the meantime, we're in the Windy City.
There was a "first" for this trip. G-Man actually had his very own seat on the plane. You have to remember that G-Man has already been to Germany, Hawaii, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Dallas, Washington D.C. and Salt Lake City. This is the first time that he was in a seat by himself. It was a welcome "first" by his parents ; )
Too bad he's big enough to kick the seat in front of him ; )
Our flight out of Boston was delayed a bit, so we decided to let G-Man walk around for a little bit - just to get things out of his system. Here's what happened:
Today, while we were driving through downtown Chicago, we were able to see the amazing Millenium Park. This is located within the larger Grant Park, which is located right next to Lake Michigan. Grant Park is an amazing piece of Chicago, housing lots of famous museums - and even Soldier Field (home of the Chicago Bears). While passing by Millenium Park, we saw the most incredible sculpture:

Obviously not taken in 20-degree weather...
It's called the Cloud Gate - but most people call it The Bean...for obvious reasons. It's one of those breath-taking pieces of art that really make you appreciate the effort to bring this to ordinary citizens.
This evening, we ate at a decent restaurant. We didn't have access to a high-chair, so G-Man sat in the booth with the adults:
If you look closely, that's pasta in G-Man's hands. He had a BLAST with some spaghetti noodles, trying to feed himself using a fork and his own two hands. He made a real attempt to feed himself, and not just play with his food... ; )
More to come...
