Auburn, CA

This week, I'm in the San Francisco Bay Area.  I spent the latter part of the previous week in Sunnyvale, with all of my employees from around the world - gathered in one place.  I had my employees from China, Japan, Korea, Canada, Germany, France, UK and the U.S. all meeting face-to-face for a couple of days.  The meetings were great and it was truly great to spend time with them.

On Sunday, I was lucky enough to drive a few hours northeast to visit my brother's family in Auburn, California.  Auburn is located just outside of Sacramento, at the base of the Sierra Nevada mountains. Like me, he had recently welcomed a new baby girl into his family.

My brother and his wife decided to have the baby blessed in church (like a christening) this weekend.  The timing was completely a coincidence, am I'm so glad I happened to be in the area.  In addition to my brother's family, my folks flew in from Canada to participate in the event.

I was really proud of my brother.  He's raised a wonderful family with his wife, and I can't wait to see this new little addition grow-up.  I hope that we can find more opportunities for our kids to spend time together.  It's difficult, with the distance between our homes, but it's always worth the effort.

Next week - San Francisco!
