Utah Wedding - Temples and Balloons

While in Utah, we visited several LDS Temples. It gave my wife a chance to take some gorgeous pictures, to add to her collection. These buildings are simply beautiful, inside and out. While you can check her photography blog to see the actual pictures, when she posts them (here), I'll tell you that G-Man and I had a blast, staying out of her way.

At the Mt. Timpanogos Temple, we arrived near sunset - for the best photography lighting. We walked all around the grounds of the Temple, just enjoying the immaculate flower beds and landscaping.

G-Man enjoyed riding on my shoulders. He started to get a little creative up there...as you can see from the next photo:

We had a fun time, as he tried to cover my face, over and over again.

While we were strolling, the sprinkler system suddenly came on. You have to understand that - normally - this is a bad thing. However, the temperatures in Utah at this time were in the high-90s. These sprinklers were a welcome respite from the heat. I convinced G-Man that we would walk through them...as respectfully as we could on Temple grounds...

He just laughed and laughed. He kept saying "more, Daddy" each time we walked through them.

During this same week, we celebrated my wife's mother's birthday. She passed away several years ago, but the family gathers (wherever they are) to recognize the day. To help the little kids remember the occasion, the family releases balloons into the air, from the cemetery:

It's a pretty awesome way to celebrate the life of a loved one. The children could understand that we were sending balloons to her, in the sky. We then sat all the cousins down on a bench, to "try" to take a picture.

It's a great snapshot of a "moment-in-time", with each child looking in a completely different direction ; ) These cousins have had so much fun when the see each other. It's a real delight to watch. It makes me wish that we all lived closer. However, we just have to cherish the time that they do spend together - and continue to make an effort for that to happen.
