The next several posts will be all about our recent family vacation on a Disney Cruise to the Caribbean. The previous post can be found HERE.
Day 3 of the cruise was spent at sea..again. But, as you can see from the last post - we didn't mind it at all! We saw many more Disney characters across the ship. As I indicated in a previous post, the interaction was really fun, relaxed, and the characters were able to spend more time with each person. Here's a good example. The kids wanted to meet Woody...the video below shows a little bit more of what happened...

L is quite partial to the Princesses. One of her favorites is Sophia - from the Disney Channel show. She was able to meet her, and you get a sense of her excitement in this video:
The decor was beautiful, around the ship. Here's my trusty tour guide, showing me how to relax next to a gorgeous mosaic of tiles:
This day was going to be L's special day - since she wasn't old enough to participate in some of the excursions at the destination islands. Instead, we talked to her about what SHE wanted to do. The top of her list was a visit to the Bibbidy Bobbidy Boutique. They have these at DisneyLand, and it's princess-themed beauty salon for little ones. She was able to pick out a dress, have her hair done, get a little bit of make-up (magic fairy dust) and her nails were painted. The ladies that work at this boutique are amazing...and do a great job with the little girls. Here's a look at the process, and the finished product ; )
She was absolutely thrilled. In addition, as she passed by any characters, or members of the crew, they all bowed to her and called her "Princess" during the entire day.
The fun didn't stop there....
Her next adventure was to attend a special Princess Tea Party at the Royal Court. This was truly amazing. She was announced as she entered the room:
They presented her with a special princess doll, a jewelry box and other gifts - while eating tiny pastries and sipping on juice (instead of tea):
Several Disney princesses came by to meet her - and presenter with a jewel to wear on a special charm bracelet. The interaction was priceless...
She finished with a picture. Belle even remembered her from their previous meeting...which made her very happy, indeed.
There were a ton of events that happened throughout the day. They had a "Diaper Derby" where babies raced/crawled to see who was the fastest. The crowd went nuts when this was happening. Almost every infant was "motivated" by a parent holding out a smartphone....
While L was enjoying her day, G-Man and I attended a class on how to make Apple Strudel. It was really cool and a little complicated. However, we vowed to try it at home. I can't wait!!!
At sea, you couldn't see any other ships for miles and miles. We did, however, spot this rainbow from the walking deck...
That evening, there was a special family dance party. L was loving it, while being dressed up. They taught the kids to salsa and do the merengue. Donald really got into it...
We at dinner that evening at the third of the three restaurants - the Enchanted Garden. This was another beautiful restaurant. The lighting changed over time, to reflect the sunset outside. When the sun finally set, the overhead lights that were shaped like flowers, opened up...it was really fun. Oh, and the food was great, too ; )
Returning to our cabin, we were treated to a towel elephant. The kids became excited to return each night and see what our room steward would leave behind...and the chocolates weren't bad, either:
